Day #3 - Wednesday 1 December 2010
Day 3 started with a diverse set of meetings in which LGMA intervened in an official manner.
First, ICLEI Executive member Cr Cathy Oke (Melbourne, Australia) addressed the plenary of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/CMP) on issues related to Clean Development Mechanisms. Her intervention highlighted that “…the participation of urban authorities and of urban mitigation projects in the global carbon market unfortunately remains extremely limited and that we should welcome any further studies of the UNFCCC Secretariat to remediate this situation”.
