Water Champion Cities’ first Workshop

The City of Incheon hosted the Champion Cities’ Workshop entitled “Cities and Water: Championing Innovation and Sustainability” held during 11 – 12 August 2010. This was the first stakeholder consultation meeting for the 6th World Water Forum for Water Champion Cities that have signed the Istanbul Water Consensus. The meeting took place within the framework of the World City Water Forum Infra-Workshop 2010. ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability was represented by Ms Margret Pageler, Ms Lebogang Nhleko and the immediate ICLEI Vice President Mayor Stephen Kabuye, who were part of the discussion panel.

The purpose of the meeting was to take stock of the achievements to date, to support emerging and ongoing initiatives between Water Champion Cities and to highlight new approaches and innovations.

The second stakeholder consultation meeting is scheduled to take place in Paris during 18 and 19 November 2010.
