EPCO and ICLEI SA signs agreement
An agreement has been signed in between ICLEI and EPCO on 9 Feb 07 at Jabalpur on the occasion of Mayors Conference. The agreement was signed in presence of Mr Jayant Maliya, Minister of Urban development, Govt of Madhya Pradesh and all cities Mayors.
Training Workshop on CDM for Cities
As part of the project ICLEI South Asia participated in four Regional workshops on CDM at Bhopal on 23 December 2006, Ujjain on 23 January, Gwalior on 03 February and Indore 24 January 2007.
A two days workshop was jointly organized by ICLEI and EPCO at Pachmadhi on 26-27th Feb attended by 28 Engineers from concerned cities and staff of EPCO. Participants were introduced to the basics of Climate Change and CDM project, later they were informed about the ICLEI’s CCP Campaign and GHG emission reduction action plans. Later in the day intensive discussion of data requirement of proposed CDM project was done. Next day city engineers were given hands on training on HEAT software.
The key speakers in the workshop were, Mr. S.K. Joshi, MoEF, Mr. Lokendra Thakkar, Project Director of EPCO, Mr. Emani Kumar, Executive Director of ICLEI-South Asia, Mr. Anurag Mishra, Project Manager of ICLEI-South Asia, and Mr Ramesh Juvekar, Energy Audit Expert.
