CCP Corporate Action Projects

ICLEI Oceania and Ironbark Sustainability have worked together to deliver the Public Lighting Toolbox and Sustainable Public Lighting projects to urban and rural councils in Australia and New Zealand since 2007.

We have identified a range of products and services to deliver to councils on a competitive fee-for-service basis across two areas: Sustainable Small Facilities, Sustainable Public Lighting and now Utility Accounts Reconciliation.

Please note, all prices quoted are in AUD.

NEW PROJECT! Utility Meter Audit and Accounts Reconciliation

Typical utility meter

This is a new project giving councils the opportunity to reconcile utility meters and accounts with council assets.

Discrepancies between asset data and utility billing data cast substantial doubt over billing and environmental reporting, which can impede energy and water conservation efforts.

Before undertaking this project, one Victorian council could match fewer than 1% of its 900 utility bills with its assets based on data provided by retailers!

Our Utility Meter Audit and Accounts Reconciliation project provides a comprehensive service to reconcile utility bills with assets, building a sound relationship between the resources used by assets and the resource consumption data.

By obtaining supplementary data from energy distributors, and by conducting on-site audits of utility meters, this project will dramatically improve the quality and usefulness of utilities data. The project also provides councils with a geographic information system map of the locations and details of all meters found during the audit.

Through the Utility Meter Reconciliation project, councils can remedy sustainability data management and have confidence that they are only paying for the consumption from council assets.

Sustainable Facilities

ICLEI Oceania and Ironbark Sustainability have developed new projects to help local government in Australia improve the management and energy efficiency of council facilities.

For many councils, facilities are a large energy user. The potential for greenhouse gas and cost savings is massive, through implementing energy efficiency measures and wider strategic programs.

The Sustainable Facilities projects are designed to help councils understand the strategic implications of improving the sustainability of facilities, and to ensure the implementation of real action.

Sustainable Public Lighting

External lighting can be complicated. However there are huge opportunities to reduce emissions and save on energy costs. Image courtesy of Ironbark Sustainability

The partnership between ICLEI Oceania and Ironbark Sustainability provides council with a unique opportunity to radically shift external lighting onto a sustainable and cost-effective footing. The projects on offer will improve the management and efficiency of external lighting for streets and open spaces, including parks and sports facilities for Australian local governments.

For many councils external lighting is the single largest source of greenhouse gas emissions. Taking real action to tackle energy efficiency in public lighting is an important step in achieving greenhouse gas abatement goals.
