Briefing meetings for local government representatives will be held every morning to inform delegates of the status of the negotiations and to plan activities for the day. A series of Briefing Sheets are available to help local government representatives with negotiations and networking.

The State of Mato Grosso will present its ongoing activities towards climate and forest protection in the Amazon and a proposal of a REDD pilot project involving multi- stakeholders in the Northwest Region.

15:00 - 15:05 Handover of the City Climate Catalogue to the Danish Minister for Climate and Energy Mr Friis
A symbolic handover of the content of the Climate Catalogue to the Danish Minister for Climate and Energy Mr Friis.
The City Climate Catalogue is a collection of local climate commitments, building a strong case for local climate action and support urgently needed national action. It is the world's first collation of local government climate data being jointly driven by The City of Copenhagen and ICLEI. As of Friday December 4, some 3100 cities around the world had submitted their own targets and mitigation statistics to the Catalogue.
An audiovisual representation of the Climate Catalogue is on display in both the ICLEI Local Government Climate LOUNGE and in Copenhagen Square for the duration of the UN Climate Change meeting.

Cities are drivers of innovative policy for climate protection. Promoting Local Renewables is one way cities worldwide are taking action to reduce their impact and energise sustainably. The Global Status Report on Local Renewable Energy Policies documents the work and achievements of local governments in this field. A prime example is Tokyo, with its innovative climate policy setting the bar for Japanese national policy. For cities who want to get involved in local renewables, ICLEI’s Local Renewable Initiative provides the guidance and direction.

“carbonn” is a new initiative organized by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability and UNEP (United Nations Environment Program), to enhance cities' action towards low-carbon communities. “carbonn” aims to facilitate cities’ presentations of their commitments, actions and performance in greenhouse gas emissions and reductions, and to support cities by providing guidance on standards and tools for local GHG emissions accounting and reporting.

20.00 - 22.00 Climate actions in the Dutch regions - The provinces on their road to a carbon zero society
This event is organised by the House of the Dutch Provinces.

The Dutch provinces are inviting COP 15 participants to come together and learn more about initiatives undertaken on a regional level in the field of fighting climate change. Three Dutch provinces will touch upon examples of concrete adaptation as well as mitigation projects in which provinces have a leading role. Questions touched upon in this session include:
- What is the aim of these projects?
- What are the financial and regulatory conditions necessary for making regional initiatives work?
- Which partners are needed? How will it contribute to the international climate goals?
- In what way is the cooperation with the national and local governments guaranteed?
