8.30 - 9.15 LG Briefing
Briefing meetings for local government representatives will be held every morning to inform delegates of the status of the negotiations and to plan activities for the day. A series of Briefing Sheets are available to help local government representatives with negotiations and networking.
10.30 - 12.30 On the planet’s side: Italian Local Governments for climate change

This event is organized by the Italian Local Agenda 21 Association, in order to illustrate, together with local governments, the current situation in Italy on climate change.
A detailed program is available here.
The focus will be on the The Charter of Italian Cities and Territories for Climate and on the guidelines realized by the Italian Local Agenda 21 Association on CO2 accounting for local governments. The city of Rome, in particular, will explain how it is possible to act successfully as a capital. The National Italian Government has been invited to introduce the Italian position in the negotiations at COP15.

12.30 - 13.00 The Antarctica Challenge: A Global Warning (film)
The Antarctica Challenge: A Global Warning is a 52-minute film reporting on the new climate change discoveries made by the world’s scientific community stationed in Antarctica during International Polar Year (2007 to 2009).This is the only film invited by the United Nations Environment Programme in official partnership to screen at COP15.

15.00 - 16.00 Podcars: Climate friendly transport
This event is organized by the KOMPASS Network.

Watch, listen and discuss Podcars and climate friendly transportation at this informative session on climate friendly transport. A third of the greenhouse gases are caused by transportation. Podcars exist now! Some tracks are running and several are on their way. KOMPASS is a network of local governments promoting information, discussion and financing of podcar/PRT pilot tracks. Decision makers, media and all interested are most welcome to attend.
16.00 - 18.00 Basque Government: LA21 & climate in Basque Country
This event is organized by the Basque Government.

The conference on Local Agenda 21 and Climate Change in the Basque Country will enable an approach to the progresses made at the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, where several tools have been used in innovative municipalities to fight against climate change, relaying on the work done by the local agents under the coordination of the Basque Government.
This session is held in Spanish.
