8.30 - 9.15 LG Briefing

Briefing meetings for local government representatives will be held every morning  to inform delegates of the status of the negotiations and to plan activities for the day. A series of Briefing Sheets are available to help local government representatives with negotiations and networking.

 

9.30 - 12.30 Supporting cities to lead local adaptation

This event is organized by the Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN), the Rockefeller Foundation and the ProVention Consortium.

Through ACCCRN, a network of cities in India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam is working to develop robust plans to address the consequences of climate change.

This session will focus on the role of cities in climate change adaptation – looking at both cities’ capacities to lead adaptation efforts and cities and local actors need for support from national governments and the international community to effectively play their frontline roles.

This event is organized by the the City of Copenhagen.

17.30 - 20.30 Shaping the Future of Urban Transport: Adaptation and Mitigation

This event is organized by the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and Inter American Development Bank (IDB) on behalf of the SLoCaT Partnership and the Bridging the Gap Initiative.

The workshop aims to discuss the manner in which a new global climate agreement can assist the developing world in strengthening transport related adaptation and mitigation efforts.

City representatives and international organizations will share experience on developing and implementing mitigation and adaptation measures, as well as discuss financial mechanisms to support low-carbon urban transportation systems.
