8.30 - 9.15 LG Briefing

Briefing meetings for local government representatives will be held every morning  to inform delegates of the status of the negotiations and to plan activities for the day. A series of Briefing Sheets are available to help local government representatives with negotiations and networking.

 

9.30 - 12.30 Funds and funding for local climate action


This event is organized by KS Norway, the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS).

A detailed program will be available here.

This topical meeting will feature a presentation on the Norwegian financial mechanism for local action, by Mr. Rune Opheim. ICLEI President David Cadman will also be present and will speak about how local governments are an integral part of the climate change solution.

 

12.30 - 13.00 Time for Real Questions

With Brice Lalonde, French Ambassador for Climate Change

Time for Real Questions is a daily dialogue with Konrad Otto-Zimmermann and global leaders that explores issues shaping the future of our cities and our planet. Information about daily speakers and recordings of the dialogues can be accessed here.

 

13.00 - 15.00 Meeting with Parties

National delegation meetings will be held in the Local Government Climate LOUNGE. These meetings are closed and on invitation only.

 

15.00 - 17.00 Tools and methods for regional energy planning

This event was organized by the North Sea - Sustainable Energy Planning Project with co-funding from the North Sea Region INTERREG IV B programme (ERDF fund).

The North Sea - SEP project invited COP 15 participants to learn about an EU funded project which aims to foster a future oriented development on regional level by an energy oriented approach. New methods and tools for regional planning and decision making were developed with the focus on a sustainable energy planning.

20.00 - 22.00 City of Helsingborg: Sweden’s #1 municipality in environmental work and home to the world’s greatest waste dump


This event is organized by the City of Helsingborg, Sweden.

The city of Helsingborg invites COP 15 participants to listen to the city's experiences in developing structured environmental work and what Helsingborg has achieved by seeing its waste as a resource instead of a liability and has taken advantage of this.
