Study tours
During the two weeks of COP 15, Helsingborg, Malmö and Växjö organize study visits to showcase their climate and energy related activities. Some of these tours were public, others were organized within a project context.
Study tour to Helsingborg in connection with COP 15
During COP 15, participants could take part in a study tour to Sweden’s Leading Climate City and see the world leading climate projects that the city is involved in. On the 9th of December the city of Helsingborg arranged a full day study tour for representatives from media, delegates and NGOs.
Background
In the summer of 2009, the City of Helsingborg was elected as Sweden’s Leading Climate City based on the broad work the city has done on environmental issues. The study tour included both presentations from leading representatives from the City as well as visits to specific locations. Among the most interesting objects were:
- NSR (The leading Swedish company in recycling, waste-management and biogas
- Bus vision Helsingborg (a 50% increase, during a 4 year period, of bus passengers in the city with biogas as fuel)
- H+ (A city renewal project where 1 million m2 centrally placed ground, will during a 20-year period be developed and become a model for ”the sustainable city”)
Time: Wednesday 9 of December between. 08:00 – 17.00
Place: Different locations in Helsingborg
Registration: Due to the generosity of Helsingborg, registration to this study tour was free.
