Local Governments ask for partnership at UN Climate Summit in New York

David Cadman, the President of ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability, addresses world leaders at the UN Climate Summit in New York on 22 September 2009, asking them for a partnership with municipal leaders to seal the next climate deal.

Representing local governments, Mr. Cadman could not be clearer: “We ask you now to become our partners” citing 20 years of municipal leadership on climate change. “We understand that local governments will be key to reducing green house gas emissions from buildings, waste, transportation and the way we plan”, he added.
