CHAMP final conference
Solutions for integrating climate change into local strategies 14 - 15 December, 2011

- Online Description: The final conference of the CHAMP project entitled, European Climate Champions – Solutions for integrating climate change into local strategies, took place from 14-15 December 2011. It took place entirely online, allowing participants to tune in from the comfort of their office. The event presented the project’s results, focusing on climate change solutions from pilot cities, online capacity development and new cooperation possibilities at a European level.
Local and regional authorities, state level representatives and NGOs were among those who gathered to discuss the role of municipalities in responding to the challenge of climate change. Participants had the opportunity to explore an integrated approach to local climate work and solutions to the need for continuous capacity building among local authorities. In the face of a rapidly changing climate, the CHAMP project worked towards fulfilling the EU environmental and climate change commitments in a cost-effective way. It did so by supporting local action through a competence development package on Integrated Management Systems (IMS). Event type:
