Roundtable Follow-up to COP 17: Outcome of the Durban climate negotiations

- CoR Room JDE 52 Jacques Delors Building, 101 rue Belliard Description: The Commission for the Environment, Climate Change and Energy (ENVE) of the Committee of the Regions (CoR) hosted a roundtable debate with a view to providing an overview of the Durban conference as seen by different stakeholders. It was meant as an exchange of views on where the international climate agenda stands and what this means for EU climate policy in general and for local and regional action in particular.
ICLEI Deputy Secretary General Gino Van Begin was a keynote speaker at the event, which underlined the importance of Durban Adaptation Charter as one of the key outcomes of COP17/CMP7. Other speakers included Ms Laurence Graff, Head of international and inter-institutional relations at the European Commission's DG Climate Action and Mr Joris den Blanken, Climate Policy Advisor, Greenpeace EU Unit.
