ICLEI World Congress 2012 14 - 17 June 2012
Belo Horizonte, Brazil Short description: The ICLEI World Congress 2012 brought together ICLEI Members, partners, global strategists, businesses, academics and NGOs. Key themes included the Green Urban Economy and Local Governance and Leadership for Sustainable Development. ICLEI Members sent a strong message on local government action to the Rio+20 Conference. Urban Nature (13-14 June) was a pre-event to the World Congress on the topic of Urban Biodiversity and Food Security, attracting around 200 participants.

Roundtable Follow-up to COP 17: Outcome of the Durban climate negotiations 7 February 2012
Brussels, Belgium Short description: The Commission for the Environment, Climate Change and Energy (ENVE) of the Committee of the Regions (CoR) hosted a roundtable debate with a view to providing an overview of the Durban conference as seen by different stakeholders. It was meant as an exchange of views on where the international climate agenda stands and what this means for EU climate policy in general and for local and regional action in particular.

CHAMP final conference Solutions for integrating climate change into local strategies 14 - 15 December 2011
Online, Short description: The final conference of the CHAMP project entitled, European Climate Champions – Solutions for integrating climate change into local strategies, took place from 14-15 December 2011. It took place entirely online, allowing participants to tune in from the comfort of their office. The event presented the project’s results, focusing on climate change solutions from pilot cities, online capacity development and new cooperation possibilities at a European level.
