Preparing For Sustainability Reporting in Western Australia

Research shows that current reporting styles do not effectively communicate the value generated by councils to various stakeholder groups. Sustainability Reporting works
not only to meet legislative requirements and inform council progress, but also to foster effective stakeholder engagement.

In a two-day workshop hosted by the City of Stirling, Western Australian councils will have the opportunity to progress towards producing an integrated sustainability annual report that is an effective communication tool.

Date: Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th August 2009

Sustainability Self-Assessment Tool

ISS is offering councils the opportunity to use the Sustainability Self-Assessment Tool for Local Government (SA Tool), which was successfully piloted recently.

The SA Tool provides valuable insight into the level of sustainability integration within council operations, and will help council’s identify strengths and weaknesses in relation to sustainability integration across council processes and plans.

Read more about the SA Tool in the latest edition of the ISS Newsletter.
