Resilient Cities 2016 in Bonn, Germany

ICLEI launches Resilient Cities Report 2016

Today at the Habitat III conference in Quito, ICLEI launched the Resilient Cities Report 2016. The report captures global developments and innovations in the field of urban resilience and adaptation to climate change. Topics covered include implementing global frameworks at the local level, financing resilience, inclusive resilience building, researcher-practitioner collaboration, energy and water management, city-region food systems and forced migration.

The report draws on examples from around with case studies from Bangkok and Pakkret (Thailand), Da Nang and Can Tho (Vietnam), Paris (France), Tainan City (Chinese Taipei) and many more. Links to useful tools, resources, and additional information are included throughout the report.

The report is based on the outcomes of the 7th Global Forum on Urban Resilience and Adaptation, Resilient Cities 2016, convened in Bonn, Germany 6 - 8 July 2016. The congress series provides an international platform to share the latest information, good practices, challenges and to track local progress on the resilience targets of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The 8th Resilient Cities congress is planned for 4 - 6 May 2017 in Bonn Germany. The call for contributions is open now through 1 December 2016 at resilientcities2017.iclei.org
