Canada Previews CAPPA

Plan It Calgary Summit: November 14 & 15
The City of Calgary is in the midst of a long-term planning process for its land use and transportation networks and will be hosting a two-day summit to give Calgarians the opportunity to shape the future of the city. One Million Acts of Green!
The CBC in partnership with a variety of environmental groups across Canada, launched One Million Acts of Green this week! The program, through a very interactive website, is meant to mobilize Canadians to make their communities more green through the cumulative impact of little actions. Canadian Medical Association publishes the financial costs of air pollution
The CMA predicts that this year alone, 21,000 Canadians will die from the effects of bad air, and smog will take an $8-billion bite out of the economy, according to a new report. The report, released this fall, puts a dollar figure on the health and economic costs of air pollution in Canada and has led to online programs that forecast health damages for each of the 10 provinces and for Canada as a whole. Check the costs of air pollution in your province here.
