The Water Campaign™

The Water Campaign™ is an international freshwater management program that aims to build the capacity of local government to reduce water consumption and improve local water quality.

What's New?

  • New participants: There are now 120 Australian councils participating in the Water Campaign™. We would like to welcome our newest participants: Port Pirie Regional Council, Shire of Busselton, Blue Mountains City Council and Northern Areas Council.

  • Hornsby Shire Council and Sutherland Shire Council recognised by Sydney Water: Hornsby Shire Council have received a five-star rating for their water saving programs from Sydney Water and are contributing, along with Sutherland Shire Council, to save 3.2 billion litres of water each year.  See our partners page for more information.

The Water Campaign™ is an ICLEI Oceania program delivered in collaboration with the Australian Government, the Government of Western Australia, City West Water, South East Water, Yarra Valley Water, Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board, South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board, Northern and Yorke Natural Resources Management Board and the Central Local Government Region of South Australia.
